Yes in Tamilnadu too 500years back ancestors wear like this
Oh, are we hating on the Brits again? Well, we haven’t been any part of your culture for hundreds of years now, so I guess you can just forget about us and just return to whatever you want now! Although, I wouldn’t fancy my chances around those oh, so lovely Indian Men wearing it nowadays though - although, I suppose you’ll say their behaviours are also down to the British as well, are they? 🤔 I’m kinda glad for all this hate, because at least it means they won’t want to come here now, making it unsafe. I’m happy for them to stay just exactly where they are - it’s each to their own with culture, after all!
Assam 😎
It is quite surprising for me to see a lot of Indians defending British in the comment section 😅😅 I can only assume who they are😝 Never mind...
What’s the movie name where ashwarya is showing plsss
and raped highest crime in india
Make it against Indian culture It looks shameless Throw on a neck high sleeved light weight blouse on for modesty This set of stupidness people want to do in the name of freedom and copy
Back in colonial days in Africa, European elites would always insist in dressing up for dinner, while wearing inappropriate clothing best suited to their own countries. In that blazing heat!!!!!!!😮
She owns the colours, sure. But not on her lips & not with that dress! C’mon! Call out a fashio faux pas when it clearly is one. Aishwarya’s style choices have been so lazy & hilarious. Not sure why she doesn’t want to fix it - perhaps because style doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things? But then why endorse beauty brands like L’Oréal? 2+2 isn’t adding up!
Makes me feel so sad for michael jackson because he had this issue except he was the most famous person on the planet and people really hurt him. You are beautiful 😍
first pic woman was beautiful
How could you possibly be more covered than to be Fully draped in artisanal fabrics?!?! The English be wildin but my ancestors already knew that too smh.
Preach.
I swear behind everything is always the British 💀
Omg how terrible! The good thing is that at least sarees still exist imagine a world without sarees? horrible :(
Educate muslim women and let's see if they receive your counselling well ! 😁
He's just so handsome... you can't take your eyes off him 😍 .. yes thirsting and totally fangurling for this stunning man 🥵🫣🤓🤤
I thought that morally and ethically we should support local businesses and economies? Idk how to balance that with a love for other cultures artistry such as this chintz fashion item? I definitely see that today where everyone tells me to buy local but I thought that was just because it’s better for the environment to reduce gases needed to transport overseas
I see that in Arabic culture and Indian culture There are a lot of similarities
This woman whitened her skin.
In most of our cultures we traditionally didn’t cover up but the West thought it was best they disrupt our peace by calling us uncivilised. Now looks who’s really really uncivilised 😒
Is this what you all are concerned about?!? Not the caste system, phone scammer culture and rampant rape culture??? 😂😂😂
Nothing to do with wear sari, but every time I see Ashwarya Bachchan-Rai, my heart skips a beat. She's so freaking beautiful 😍😍😍😍
Wow! I didn’t know they added shirts underneath
Soooo when they were into modesty they had to shut down anyone else, and when they’re into exposure then…it’s the others who are backwards. Pattern detected.
??
Bro Rashmika is a Coorgi!!!
Maybe yes, but I think covering up happened during the Muslim rule rather than the British, to protect our ladies. However, I don't think flashing your skin has anything to do with being modern.
...you sound dumb
You are a brave ❤❤ keep it on n beautiful
Wow, that's awesome I never knew that 😮
Because back then white was always right, so they covered themselves and avoided the sun. However now is different, brown/tan is a sign of wealth, cos they can travel to tropical countries. Don't worry now we slowly go back to white is flawless. Thanks to South Korean beauty standards and the broken atmosphere 😂
Yes it is against Indian culture . Early women use to tie a pcs of cloth over there Brest so that while wearing a sari nipples don’t show of or loose Brest become very painful.
I'm getting married in 3 weeks and I'm wearing an ivory lehenga with gold detailing (to honor both my Indian culture and Christian faith). :)
That’s lovely❤️ Congratulations!
Aishwarya Rai movie in this picture
COLONIZERS!!!!! 🤛🏾🤛🏾🤛🏾
Now that cheet has become floral
If not for france and britain it will not be global
Did you take any medicines for it? I started ointments and pills but was very irregular with it. Over the years the pigments are only increasing in my body and I don't know how to go about it
I love the outfits 🥰🤩
But I think these mightve been very close to the accurate, because of the british occupancy, and the era might ve been full of riches
Its lovely how you connected two different aspects together.. which is totally relatable and true
On the other hand I loved her look when she wore that lip color! ❤❤
You are so beautiful! And love those curls!
Thank you 😊
I think this is called self print on silk
Wow!
Your level of knowledge is on another level... may I ask what have you studied?
Where is dress placed now?
It's at Kedleston Hall in Derbyshire, England, which is managed by their National Trust.
Does anyone know what movie that clip was from?
My grandma passed away at 93yrs of age and only wore blouse when guests (who were not relatives)were visiting or when leaving home for something. Traditionally, blouses didn’t look like it does now- it was not as conservative. Go and see any old carvings and you would know. The influx of religions and practices that didn’t exist in the Indian subcontinent brought about the more conservative dressing styles.
No
Oh now North Indians wanna display South Indians everywhere
